Drakeville teams up with WAPJ 89.9 FM to raise money four our General Fund during a boot drive in the middle of downtown Torrington. Taking over the radio station the first Saturday in July, we play Torrington's Classic Rock from 12pm to 4pm, speak to motorists passing by and collect donation for the department.
Each year our department holds this event to bring the community together after the holidays to visit the firehouse and enjoy refreshments while keeping warm by a roaring bon fire stoked by our firefighters. Real, undecorated Christmas Trees are generously donated for the event by members of the Torrington community.
Our annual Pasta Supper is traditionally the last Saturday in October at the firehouse featuring all-you-can-eat fresh cooked pasta with sauce, salad and all the fixings. Coffee and dessert is always served.
One of the things we are most famous for is our Pancake Breakfast. Our breakfast is traditionally held the last Sunday of April. We offer blueberry pancakes along with our hot original recipe. Breakfast sausage, juice and coffee are also served.
