EVENTS
Our department holds several events throughout the year to both familiarize the community with the department and to raise money for our day-to day operations....

January
Our newest event is our Community Christmas Tree Bon Fire held in early January. Bring your Christmas Tree for us to Burn! Refreshments and a firehouse open house complement the night all capped off by a warm bon fire on a cold winters night. Donations are welcome!

April
One of the things we are most famous for is our Pancake Breakfast. Our breakfast is held the last Sunday of April. We offer blueberry pancakes along with our warm original recipe. Breakfast sausage, juice and coffee are also served. We also feature a raffle. Children of all ages are invited to check out the fire trucks parked just outside.

July
Drakeville teams up with WAPJ 89.9 FM to raise money four our General Fund during a boot drive on Water Street in Torrington. Taking over the radio station the first Saturday in July, we play Torrington's Classic Rock from 12pm to 4pm. Kids of all ages are invited to tour the radio station and sit on our fire trucks.

Our annual Flea Market and Community Tag Sale is held every third or fourth Saturday in July in the event field adjacent to the firehouse. We seek vendors from the area to sell their treasures to those venturing by. This event features music, food and cool treats on a warm summer day.

October
Beginning in early October we send out an annual appeal to the residents in our immediate district. Residents donating $10 or more are considered supporting members of the department. Donations in any amount are always appreciated. Our annual Pasta Supper is the last Saturday in October at the Fire House featuring all-you-can-eat fresh cooked pasta with sauce, salad and all the fixings. Coffee and dessert is always served and a raffle complements the evening.

November
Drakeville teams up with the Torringford Volunteer Fire Department to raise money and gather food for the holiday season for FISH Food Bank in Torrington. Crews station at local stores asking shoppers to donate food stuffs for the cause.

December

Drakeville teams up with WAPJ 89.9 FM to raise money and gather food, toys and coats for the holiday season for Friendly Hands Food Bank in Torrington. Taking over the radio station the first Saturday in December, we play Christmas and other holiday tunes from 12pm to 4pm taking your requests and on-air wishes for family and friends. Kids of all ages are invited to tour the radio station and sit on our fire trucks.
