Our department holds several events throughout the year to both familiarize the community with the department and to raise money for our day-to day operations....
Our bi-annual Scrap 'n Chat is held every February and November. Participants spend time creating memorable scrapbook pages, catching up with friends and enjoying wonderful food provided by department members. This event is held at the Coe Park Civic Center.
Beginning March 1, we send out an annual appeal to the residents in our immediate district. Residents donating $10 or more are considered supporting members of the department. Donations in any amount are always appreciated.
One of the things we are most famous for is our Pancake Breakfast. Our breakfast is held the last Sunday of April. We offer chocolate chip and blueberry pancakes along with our warm original recipe. Breakfast sausage, juice and coffee are also served. We feature raffle items and a 50/50. Children of all ages are invited to check out the fire trucks parked just outside.
We've teamed up with S&S Sweet Treats, an ice cream shop, in Downtown Torrington. Meet with our firefighters while they serve up your favorite flavors and show off the trucks to those stopping by. It's always a fun event coinciding with a Torrington Titans home game at Fussenich Park.
Our annual flea market is held every third Saturday in July in the event field adjacent to the firehouse. We seek vendors from the area to sell their treasures to those venturing by. This event features music, food and cool treats on a warm summer day.
Our annual Pasta Supper is the last Saturday in October at the Fire Hosue featuring fresh cooked pasta with sauce, salad and all the fixings. Coffee and dessert is always served and a raffle complements the evening.
